Norfolk, Aylsham District, Lammas with Little Hautbois, Parish Information, 2001
Document Reference: Survey Description
Transcribed by: Geoff Lowe
Date Added: May 09, 2001
Lamas is located about 10 miles north of Norwich and 5 miles South East of Aylsham.
Lamas is now joined in the same parish as Buxton. Very much a rural village, surrounded by farmland; its small church stands off the Buxton Road. The outlying village of Little Hautbois was absorbed into Lamas a few hundred years ago. RAF Coltishall lies close to the east of Lamas.
To get to Lamas, follow the B1150 north for about 8 miles to Horstead. Turn left by the Recruiting Sergeant PH along the B1354 and you reach Buxton after another 3-4 miles. Turn right by the village hall (oppostie the church) and follow the Scottow Road past the mill to Lamas
